Debra finds out about Dexter's secret.
At the end of Season 5, Debra came awfully close to exposing her brother's murderous ways. It seems only likely that she'd find out what Dexter has been up to in Season 6--perhaps dying shortly afterwards and taking the information to her grave. In fact, a few spoilers for Season 6 indicate that this is indeed the case. It's the fallout that viewers will be dying to see (bad pun intended.)
Dexter goes to prison.
Of course, no one really wants this to happen. But in the event that Season 6 is last season, it's entirely feasible that Dexter will finally be found out. The path to this discovery may be long and winding; but it is certainly sure to send ratings through the roof.
The Return of Lumen
Season 5's finale found Dexter's latest partner in crime deciding that she'd had enough of his "alternative" lifestyle. So she moves back home to resume a life that doesn't involve killing people for sport. But Season 6 would be the perfect opportunity to bring back Lumen. What would really be interesting is if Lumen returned to her hometown-and not being able to kick that "killing bug"--resumed murdering on her own. She could then return to Miami to flee from authorities (and get Dexter's help)-who would surely be tracking her.
Dexter gets yet another new partner in crime.
Cable shows like this are notorious for including some pretty fascinating big names to the cast. Don't be surprised if Season 6 of "Dexter" follows suit. Dexter's Dad has consistently assumed the role of partner and confidante (in the form of vivid hallucinations.) But surprisingly he's had quite a bit of real live "help" disposing of Florida's evildoers. Will another big-named celebrity serve as Dexter's nemesis or yet another partner in crime? This dynamic is what has kept the show so interesting over the years.
Dexter is killed.
TV series like "Dexter" are always more shocking when one of the cast members dies. In the event that Season 6 is the final one, the death of a main character would certainly pack a wallop. This is perhaps the most far-fetched, most shocking "prediction" of all. But it could certainly happen. Of course, this development would most surely spell the end of the series. But Dexter has had some pretty close calls. It's not entirely unreasonable that he finally meet his match.

Post a CommentWe'll just have to wait and see... I'm sure Dexter will find a way. But you know, I think they need to get back to concentrating a bit more on his own murders.
