And Your Precious Little Miracle

Lisette Suarez
Being pregnant is one of the most wonderful beautiful things that a woman can experience, but it can also be a scary one especially if this is your first pregnancy and does not know anyone that can give you advice. Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different, even if you've had children before.

The most common symptoms of pregnancy are nausea, vomiting, and no menstruation. Not every woman will experience this. There are many that will experience nausea and vomiting toward the end of the pregnancy and at the beginning they will feel just fine. Others will not have any nausea or vomiting but they will see a slight change in their menstruation, but it won't completely stop until around their seven to nine months.

Many women will also experience tenderness in their breasts and for some it they may get so big that it could get uncomfortable on their shoulders. Other things to look for are changes in how you are feeling and swelling of the feet and on some woman their noses. Eating habits can change too, and can be automatically noticed even before you take the pregnancy test. In my case, I have found that boys tend to make you eat more than girls and your third child tends to be more painful than your first two. But like I said before, everyone is different and not everyone will get the same symptoms or feelings when being pregnant.

Around the fourth or fifth month, you will start to notice movement in your belly. It will feel like butterflies fluttering or gas bubbles. First time mothers will usually mistaken the movement for gas bubbles until the baby gets bigger. Once the baby gets bigger it will be much easier to notice the movement. But once you do, it will be one of the greatest feelings you will experience in your life that can make you cry of pure joy.

There will be times when you will notice stomach flatten on one side and bulge out on the other. This is normal and it could mean that the baby is trying to find a comfortable spot inside your belly. Depending on the size of the baby, if you look close enough, you could see your baby moving outside the belly. You may have a tumbler, gymnast, or kick-boxer in your belly. Some babies like to sleep during the day and move at night. Others like to move whenever you are moving and if you stop, they usually will too. They may enjoy listening to the sound of your voice or the voices of other children if they are around, and may react accordingly.

Being given the gift of bearing a child is a wonderful experience that you should cherish always. It is best to go a doctor for prenatal vitamins which are important to your child's development. They will also give you sonogram, which are pictures of the baby to see how they are growing. This is usually started after the third month, but some hospitals may not take any, until the very end. Other hospitals may only do it if it is an emergency. Some hospitals believe that taking sonograms of healthy babies can harm them before they come out, but I don't think I've seen anything that talks about that.

Hopefully after reading this, you will have some idea as to what to look for when you are pregnant and will not be as scared as you may have been beforehand. Just remember that the calmer you are the better it will be for both you and your baby and believe that your baby will be your precious little miracle.

I love everything in print and showing my three children the joys as well. I believe that writing should be done whether you wish to gain from it or not as a way to express yourself.  View profile
