One common question that is often raise about laser is how safe is laser hair removal for pregnant woman? Pregnant women often have problems with unwanted hair in the abdomen as well as in the face. Due to hormonal changes that the body goes through when a woman is pregnant they tend to have increase in growth. But once the baby is born it all goes back to normal that is why pregnancy laser hair removal is not advisable at this time.

Even if laser hair removal only involves the skin and the light ray does not really penetrate the entire body still it is not advisable for you to have laser hair removal when you are pregnant. One primary reason is that there have not been enough clinical studies with pregnant women to really tell that the procedure is safe. The laser treatment might just be skin deep and doesn't really affect the fetus but the pain that you will have with laser treatment might just stress the body which is not good at all with the fetus.

There are indeed a lot of myths going on regarding laser treatment with pregnant women - that you are putting the fetus at risk and there might be birth defects but all this are not clinically proven either. Since there is not enough proof regarding the truth of it, many clinics do not treat pregnant women for the safety of both, the mother and the fetus.

In short do not undergo any cosmetic treatment just to be sure and guarantees the safety of your baby. Laser treatment is indeed effective in hair removal but it is best if you wait till you give birth before you undergo such treatment. You might not have to undergo at all since this excessive hair growth is often cause by hormonal changes when you are pregnant. Thus if you are no longer pregnant then things will slowly go back to normal and you will observe the excess hair growth will cease too.

Just remember that this extra hair growth is just temporary and after the birth this hair will also fall out by itself. So it is not practical to invest your money on pregnancy laser hair removal at all. Better save your money for more important things especially since the baby is coming. If after giving birth, if those excess unwanted hair wont go away then perhaps that is the time that you can consider having the laser hair removal treatment.
