Pregnant Man's Baby Pictures Released

Thomas Beatie lives a normal life, has a wife, Nancy, and they work hard like any other family. Oh, and one more thing, Thomas is pregnant.

Well at least he was until June 29th, when a 9 and a half pound girl, Susan Juliette, was born. One question regarding this happening is about the true sex of the "pregnant" man. After all, if Thomas still has ovaries, is he technically a woman?

It is undeniable that Thomas was born a female and went by another name when he was born. To some, that may be enough proof to say that he is indeed a woman. However, Thomas was a man inside of a woman's body. Over time, he realized that he was in the wrong physical body and decided to change that through surgical procedures and therapy. Through this, the complete Thomas was born.

Perhaps the problem with understanding how Thomas could be born a girl and now is a man lies within the understanding of what "surgical procedures" indeed means. When Thomas underwent surgery, he did not have his uterus removed, which was why he was able to carry a fetus. With proper planning, hormonal adjustments and faith, Thomas' dormant biological parts were able to support a healthy baby. I could imagine that it took a lot to convince Thomas to use the body that he hated so much to have a kid to call his own. Thomas is a man, but now he is a father. Congratulations to him and Nancy for their accomplishment.

Whether you consider Thomas to be the first pregnant man or the first pregnant lesbian, you must admire the beauty that is portrayed through these baby pictures. CNN did by paying $300,000 for them. I hope that all goes well for Susan and I'm sure her parent's will take care of her to the best of their abilities.
