Pregnant Marine Maria Lautherbach is Dead

Maria Lauterbach, the 20-year-old pregnant Lance Corporal Marine who has been missing since December, is dead, according to Onslow County, N.C., Sheriff Ed Brown. The body has not been recovered, but authorities believe that she is buried in a residential area near Jacksonville, NC.

Lauterbach, who was eight months pregnant when she was reported missing on December 19, had accused Cpl. Cesar Armando Lauren of rape. She was concerned that the investigation was falling apart and had been scheduled to testify in a military probe of the charges before she disappeared. Lauterbach's cell phone and car were both found in the days after his disappearance and an unknown man was seen on security film attempting to use her ATM card. Lauren refused to cooperate with the authorities investigating Lautherbach's disappearance and left the area. "They don't know where he is," Brown told MSNBC. "He's gone." He is now the chief suspect in Lauterbach's murder.

The death of Lauterbach is just the latest in a series of high profile murders involving pregnant women. In most cases, the father of the unborn child is responsible.

In December 2002, Laci Peterson of California was reported missing by her husband Scott. Peterson was, like Lauterbach, eight months pregnant. Her disappearance sparked a massive search. Her body was found in April 2003 on the shore of the San Francisco Bay. Scott Peterson was found guilty of her murder.

A year later, Lori Hacking of Utah was reported missing by her family after she failed to return from her morning jog. Hacking was five weeks pregnant at the time. Mark Hacking, Lori's husband, was found naked wandering the streets naked. After being hospitalized for a mental evaluation, it was revealed that Mark Hacking had lied about completing his undergraduate degree and felt his life was falling apart when Lori revealed her pregnancy. He confessed to her murder and was sentenced to six years to life in prison.

Earlier this year, 26 year old Jessie Davis was reported missing from her Ohio home after her mother found Davis' two year old son alone and the home in shambles. Davis' son told his grandmother "Mommy broke the table" and "Mommy's in the rug.â'¬ï¿½ Bobby Lee Cutts, Jr., a married police officer and the father of both of Davis' children, was arrested and charged with the murder. His trial is set to begin on February 4 and faces the death penalty if found guilty.

I'm sorry for the loss of Maria and her son. May they both rest in peace. Maria, I hope you are happy and safe now. Always take good care of your son. I'm sure your family here on earth are missing you and your son very much. The strength and prayers from family and freinds will help them in their loss.
As for the killer of the two, I believe that the good Lord will punish him or her. It has not been proven that it was the "male" Lauren who killed Maria and her son. Cpl. Lauren is married, remember?
May prayers are with you Maria and your son,

I totally agree with, "someone with a heart." It all sounds so similar to the Lacy Peterson case only this guy is a genuine coward and he will get his.

to luke "i banged that SLUT" and kou "thats what happens when youre a whoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

So, is she the only "SLUT" you banged? Have you banged any others? If so, you're the male equivalent of a "whoreeeeeee" and maybe you deserve to get what she got?

You 2 are dispicable..............no human being deserves what happened to her and her baby. Obviously she was raped......otherwise why would that jerk have killed her? All he had to do was contradict her, tell the court it was consensual and when she got pregnant, she cried rape. Easy. Now everyone knows he's guilty......except you 2 morons.

i hope that these comments below about Maria Lauterbach are not from people who are serving our country. If so, you are as worthless as a terroist for the disregard for a human life, 2 for that matter. Should you be killed and burnt up and buried for sleeping w/ these "whores"? No, you're type are the little pantywastes that can dish it out but can't take it.

    • Although the body of the mother is simply discarded in the sea, either from the Albany Bulb or more likely from Point Isabel (it has been suggested in the Hoffman channel), the body of the baby is carefully laid on the shore at Point Isabel so it can be found and buried. This is clearly the work of someone who cared for the baby.

What part of this does NOT look like a failed fetus napping, where both mother and child have died?

    • Some distance away, the body of her child is also found.
    • He shows no signs of prematurity, he is full term and he is not curled up in the fetal position.
    • The fetal cord has been crudely cut.
    • A piece of twine has been double knotted around his neck, not to harm him but to keep his body wrapped in plastic bags to protect it. One of the bags is found nearby.
    • The mother is wearing underwear with a wear pattern which shows she has worn it for the whole period of her abduction - which was 111 days.
    • Her clothes are still on her body, something which could not happen unless they were retied after the baby was removed. It also shows she was in the water for a day or two at most.
    • Her uterus is two to three weeks post partum, showing that she lived at least that long after the baby was removed from her body.
    • Although the body of the mother is simply discarded in the sea, either from the Albany Bulb or more likely from Point Is
