Prehistoric Forest & Mystery Hill - Two Fun Amusement Parks in Marblehead, Ohio

Do you wish you could go back in time and walk the earth when the dinosaurs roamed? Or would you like to experience life as a paleontologist, discovering and studying the remains of the period when the creatures ruled the land? Maybe you would like to see what it would be like if gravity did not work the way you were taught that it should, or a pendulum that refuses to swing any direction but south. You can find all of these things side by side at two amusement parks in Marblehead, Ohio, not too far from Cleveland.

Prehistoric Forest takes you to the land of the dinosaurs. There, you will walk through the ten acre forest, by way of a volcano on the verge of eruption. Walk past the thirty-five foot water fall, but do not let your guard down because you will not be alone in there. Many remains and antiquated creatures will be with you. Dinosaur bones, dinosaur eggs, a Pterodactyl, and one very sneaky critter are waiting for you to discover. If that is not enough excitement, you can do more searching in the dig site, where fossils and bones are ripe for the excavating. Outside of the dig site, follow the moss path through beautiful woodlands, with stunningly colorful flowers and plants, and uncommon trees. But don't get too relaxed. There is a life-size Tyrannosaurus hoping to make your acquaintance.

If you survive your encounter, take a walk right next door to Mystery Hill, and get that strange feeling that there are some things in this world that are just unexplainable. At the vortex, watch as people experience a change in height right in front of you. See water flowing up hill, and a ball that won't roll down. Be prepared to feel slightly off-kilter when trying to walk in some places, and in others, you will just feel... weird.

When you have had enough mystery and prehistory, wind down at the playground, in the water balloon cages, or with a game of mini-golf. There is a lot to do on this little plot of land, and with reasonable prices ($12.45 for adults and $10.45 for children gets you into both parks, the water balloon cages, and pays for a round of golf); it is a family excursion that can fit into almost any budget.

If you would like to make it an overnighter, there are five cabins right on sight with electric and plumbing. The only thing you have to bring is your bedding and bath towels.
