As reported by the Starbulletin Ala Moana Center's Fourth of July fireworks show put on by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza at Magic Island will last for 18 minutes, starting at 8:30 by Pyro Spectaculars of Souza. All lanes on Ala Moana Boulevard from Kamakee Street to Atkinson Drive will be CLOSED during the show.

A good place to see the Magic Island fireworks tonight is from Kaka'ako Park to avoid the 40 thousand people at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Video below is a slide show of stills. I was unable to take videos because of focusing problems. For the stills, had to wait until the fireworks were bright enough to get a green square that says the digital camera is able to focus versus a yellow square that says the camera is unable to focus. Had a two second time delay on the camera that was mounted on top of the tripod because mashing the button without a delay causes it to be out of focus. Perhaps that's the difference between a cheap tripod and a expensive tripod?

View is from the uppermost parking lot at the Dole Cannery. Hint: don't park your car on top - you will be stuck for 45 minutes trying to get out. On a motorcycle, I was able to coast without the engine on down the parking ramps. Those cocooned in their portable living rooms that includes A/C, stereo, with a cell phone glued to the side of their head, are unconcerned of the toxic cloud of exhaust they belch out permeating the surrounding air where ever they are present. Like the Peanuts cartoon character PigPen, except the rolling cloud is of smog instead.
