Premiere of Survivor: Micronesia Leaves Viewers Wanting More

I was never a fan of Survivor until my boyfriend got me to watch during season 13, Survivor: Cook Islands. I really got hooked on last season, Survivor: China. And from the looks of last night's premier episode of Survivor: Micronesia, I won't be disappointed this season!

CBS has brought back a team of favorites from the past seasons and pitted them against a team of fans of the show. There's no doubt there will be a ton of conflict this season.

The favorites, comprising the Malakal Tribe, quickly took on a sense of overconfidence. Upon arriving to their living area, they easily put together a shelter, started fire and rounded up some oh-so-tasty grub. The Airai Tribe, however, wasn't able to get a shelter up so quickly, and found themselves doused with a heavy rain shower overnight.

Alliances were quickly formed in the Malakal Tribe, as well. James (Survivor: China) and Parvati (Survivor: Cook Islands) took a serious liking to each other. Jamies said he thought Parvati was "very attractive" and sort of like a "sex kitten type" of girl. Parvati quickly took advantage of James' attraction and they were cuddling overnight. In another Survivor match-up, Ozzy (Survivor: Cook Islands) and Amanda (Survivor: China) quickly took a liking to each other, as well. Previews indicate their budding romance (and the ensuing makeout sessions) may cause a problem among the tribe of favorites.

On the Airai Tribe side, things got off to an interesting start when 45-year-old golf course vendor Kathy began by asking Chet about his sexual orientation. "I hope you can be my first gay man friend," she said. "Because I've never had a gay man friend!" While she likely didn't mean any harm, she certainly didn't win any points with the rest of her tribe. Tack on to her embarrassing statements the fact that she asked Tracy, a 43-year-old residential builder, about her breast implants, and Kathy was off to a rocky start.

Meanwhile, the Malakal Tribe's overconfidence may have cost them dearly in the first Immunity Challenge. The favorites easily beat them, winning flint and the first Tribal Immunity, sending the Malakal Tribe to Tribal Council.

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, favorite Jonny Fairplay (Survivor: Pearl Islands) began talking about how he wasn't emotionally right in the head because his girlfriend at home is expecting a baby girl in the next few months. The favorites took his words to heart and voted him out in the first Tribal Council.
