Premiership Football News for June 13

The summer Premiership football transfer season is in full swing. Both the BBC and Sky Sports are reporting the latest deals, rumours and other premiership news.

Today, June 13, looks to be another interesting Premiership news day. It looks like the manager position at Man City is close to being filled. According to the BBC the club are hoping that they will have a new manager in place by next week. It is thought that the favourite candidates for the position are Juande Ramos, who is currently with the Spanish team Seville and Dutchman, Co Adraanse.

News from Manchester's other Premiership football team is also making headlines today. French striker, Louis Saha will be out of action till around December because of knee surgery. The player's agent Ranko Stojic told the BBC, "Louis won't be on the field now for a few months. I don't know when he will be able to start training again but he is looking at being back around November or December. It's going to be awhile."

So far this transfer season there are rumours that Manchester United is on the hunt for a new striker. The club has recently been linked with Dimitar Berbatov, who is currently playing for the Tottenham. Also in Manchester United news comes word from English striker, Alan Smith that he is thinking of leaving the club if they fail to give assurances about his place in the team. Smith spoke to The Sun, saying, "If the manager tells me he wants me, I'm there for him. If he doesn't, it's time to move on."

London Club, West Ham is reportedly close to signing Darren Bent from newly relegated Charlton. It is thought that West Ham will pay £18million to secure the player from Charlton.

Arsenal are currently being linked with Juventes striker, David Trezeguet. It is thought that Arsenal manager, Aresene Wenger is attempting to bring Trezeguet to the club to help captain, Thierry Henry, who currently unsettled at the club. David Trezeguet is also linked with a move to Liverpool.

In other Arsenal transfer rumours; it is thought that the club are seeking to sign Ryan Babel from Dutch club, Ajax in a £6million deal. If the transfer occurs it could mean the Arsenal's, Freddie Ljungberg may be sold.

Sky Sports are reporting that Liverpool are after the signature of 19 year old Barcelona prodigy, Marc Crosas. It is thought that Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez, would like to take the young star on loan with the option of buying him if he works out at the club.

Newcastle United appear to be in the hunt for new players now that Sam Allardyce has taken over the managerial reins. The club are being linked with David Rozehnal, a defender currently playing in France at PSG. Newcastle is also thought to want Nicky Shorey, a left back playing for Reading, as well as winger Goldeniz Karadenies from Trabzonspor.

It is now pretty certain that Tuncay Sanli will be playing for Middlesbrough when the 2007/08 season begins. The player will be allowed to move to a new club on a free transfer as his contract with former club, Fenerbahce expired. The player was hoping to join a Premiership team.

Wigan is in the race for three players according to reports today. The club are being linked with Jason Koumas, Michael Brown and Danny Murphy. Wigan have also confirmed the transfer of defender, Mario Melchiot
