Organic Farming: Animals
The first thing that you will need to do when it comes to the organic farming of animals is to make sure that all the products that you will use for them are one hundred percent organic. There is no cutting corners in this regard, not even when it comes to the feed. If you substitute any product for something that is not organic, then you cannot truly consider your meat and other animal products to be one hundred percent organic. So, it is important that you have everything on hand that you will need to make sure your animals continue to remain healthy, which will enable you to have a successful yield when it comes time to take them to market.
The second thing that you must do when it comes to the organic farming of animals is to abstain from using hormones at any time. Commercial farmers use hormones for a number of reasons, such as to increase the size of the animal in order to produce more meat and make more money and have an increased production of milk. These hormones are not good for human consumption because some have adverse reactions to the hormones, such as children starting puberty early and developing obesity. If you want your animals to be nice and plump, you can feed them a great deal of meats and vegetables or whatever they are willing to consume that is healthy for them. And if you want your animals to produce a certain amount of milk, feed them foods that will increase their milk supply. Foods that are packed with minerals and healthy fats are good for increasing the supply of milk.
Finally, you will want to make sure your animals are able to roam freely. When animals have free roam of the farm, they are healthier. Healthier animals means that they will not be sick as often, meaning that antibiotics will not have to be administered as much, which is good for when humans consume them because they will not have to worry about their bodies being so used to the antibiotics that they will not work in the event that they are needed. Not to mention, if the animals are healthier, they are healthier for humans to consume.
Organic Farming: crops and Vegetables
When it comes to the organic farming of crops, it is important that no synthetics are used. In addition to not using any synthetics, all pesticides and fertilizers must be organic. Doing things this way insures that the plants are free of toxins, which makes them healthier for human consumption.
If you are having trouble with plant growth, you can do a few things to speed up the growth without resorting to synthetics at all. you can make compost heaps, which adds nutrients to the soil or you can use vitamin supplements to enhance your soil, a good one being Spray and Grow.
Organic farming can seem complicating at first, and some may even see it as being inconvenient. But it is important to understand that it is a healthier alternative, and it can be done without too much trouble with the proper preparations at hand.
