Prepare for Snowshoeing Trek Tours

Although Skiing and Snowboarding Are Popular, Have You Tried a Snowshoeing Hike?

Get snowshoes that correspond to your weight. There's nothing worse than sinking in the white powder because your shoes don't fit right. There are weight ratings from 30 up to 300 pounds. Make sure you have the right size and fit.

Try finding the lightest snowshoe possible, about a pound each. Feeling like you are lugging bricks on your feet will take all the fun out of your day.

Bring plenty of water and snacks. Keeping hydrated is a must, especially on bright sunny days. Energy packed granola bars are great

Stay way from difficult hills, especially with young children in tow. Start with the easy slopes and gradually work up to the steeper trails.

Wear clothing in layers you can shed as you warm up and sweat. Your body will build up heat quickly. Much better than one heavy coat. Waterproof boots are a must when sloshing through the snow.

Rest as often as you need to. Don't stray so far that you will be exhausted on the way back to base camp.
