Preparing to Become a Parent

The Best Way to Prepare

posh_post
Let's admit, we all want to become the best parents to our children. We want to give them only the best. We don't want them to experience the hardships that we endured and we want to give them everything that was withheld to us. Sometimes, in our pursuit to give them the best, we find out that what we give is actually detrimental to them.

There is no fool proof method that can guarantee us the offspring that we would like to have through good parenting. And even if one method worked for one child, it does not always work on the other, which is probably the reason why sometimes there are people who are considered the "black sheep" of an otherwise immaculate family. I would not want to call my child black sheep.

There is not university that gives a degree on parenting. We all learn by experience and from the knowledge of how we were also raised and taught as children.

I am one who seeks wisdom in raising children. i will soon be a parent myself. So what I do is, I read books, I ask around, and I observe. Most of all, I pray.

God is the ultimate parent--the best Father. I believe that from Him comes the concept of fatherhood. So where else can we best look for guidance on how to become the best parent but to our Father in heaven.

Good luck becoming a new parent! There will be so many times when you question things you do, or decisions you make. But a child will bring so much happiness to your life! Best of luck.

Many books and article onm parenting, but no one knows with any certainty what it will be like for anyone else - let alone what will work best for another person. Listen, read, watch - then trial and error learning I think. David
