Are you in the process of preparing your child for preschool or have you decided to homeschool preschool them? If you have, it is important that you take the time to introduce your toddler or preschooler to science. Introducing science to your child at an early age has a number of benefits, such as a love for it.

When it comes to introducing your toddler or preschooler to science, you will find that you have a number of different options. One of your options involves using the outdoors to your advantage. Outdoor exploration is a great way to educate your child from home, as well as a fun way. One of the many ways that you can use the outdoors to your advantage, when looking to prepare your child for preschool or homeschool preschool them are outlined below.

One of the many ways that you can educate your child from home, in terms of science, is by exploring the flowers, plants, and trees that can be found outside. You and your toddler or preschooler will want to go outdoors and search for whatever you can find. Or, you can be on the lookout for plants, flowers, or trees. This is ideal as it can turn into a fun scavenger hunt for your child. You will want to discuss each and every object that you see.

In addition to discussing which plants, flowers, and trees that can be found outside, like at a park or in your own backyard, you may want to have your toddler or preschooler document what they can find. For example, you can take pictures with your own camera or give your child a disposable camera to use. It may also be a good idea to have your child draw pictures of what they find outdoors. This is ideal as it can also introduce your child to art, as well as allow them to express their creativity.

Another one of the many ways that you can introduce your child to science with the outdoors is with insect exploration. With insect exploration, you may want to invest in a science book that is designed for toddlers or preschoolers, namely one that outlines some of the many bugs and insects that can be found outdoors. This may make it easier for your toddler or preschooler to know what they see. As with the plants and flowers, you can also have them document their findings in photographs or drawings.

The weather is another aspect of science that you will want to explore with your toddler or preschooler. When it comes to weather, you have a number of different options. One of those options involves watching a thunderstorm from safely inside your home. Your toddler or preschooler will likely be fascinated with the lightening and possibly even the thunder. You can have them do fun activities, like counting how long it takes to thunder after lightening and so forth. When examining the weather with your child, especially during a storm, it is important that you use your best judgment and exercise caution.

In keeping with the weather, you may want to take your child outdoors to examine nature after a rainstorm or a thunderstorm. This is particularly ideal if you have already explored the outdoors with your child, namely with a focus on plants, flowers, and insects. What you and your child can do is search again for those same living things. It is neat to see what happens to flowers and plants, as well as insects, when they are subject to large amount of rain, wind, or even snow. This is something that your toddler or preschooler cannot only see for their own eyes, but it is also a topic that makes for some great science discussions.

The above mentioned ways are just a few of the many ways that you can go about introducing your child to science at home. As a reminder, there are a number of benefit to introducing your child to science at a young age, including giving them a head start.
