Eating better does not always mean that you have to give up the foods that you love. It could be as simple as preparing your food a different way. If you always fry your food and use a lot of salt, you could simply start baking instead of frying. Choose to season your food with fresh herbs instead of always using salt. During the summer months, you can prepare most of your meals outside on the grill, which will also add a lot of flavor.
There are all sorts of ways to cut down on the fat content in your meals. Try making salad a part of dinner every evening, and always serve a vegetable. Have bottled water for everyone to drink instead of juice and soda. For snacks, serve fresh fruit, yogurt or jello, you can cut up the fruit and put it in sandwich bags for quick snacks. Choose cookies with reduced fat and potato chips that are baked.
