Preparing Hot Wings with Less Fat

How to Prepare Low Fat Hot Wings

Barbara K
First pick up the wings; they can be large or small which ever you choose. Now, how many to purchase will depend on the number that will be eating. If four (4) to five (5) guest or family members are going to eat, it will take thirty (30) to fifty (50) wings.

If some are big eaters then a larger amount may need to be bought. You will also need to purchase Texas Pete Buffalo sauce. Purchase enough to cover the wings in the pot as they are cooking which may take three (3) to four (4) bottles. Also purchasing a medium size bottle of regular Texas Pete hot sauce if wanting them to be hot, hot wings.

It's time to get out the old crock pot; it will take a large one (1) or two (2) regular ones. If only have one smaller you may need to borrow one. When using two pots you can choose to make one pot of wings mild, medium, and the other one HOT. This just depends on what your guest or family likes the most.

Now it's time to prepare the wings. If using the large pot then put all the wings in it or as many as will cook and not over flow the pot. Remember to leave enough room to add the sauce that will be used, also making it the desired taste temperature. When using the two (2) pots divide the wings as evenly as possible making them the same or different temperatures (mild, medium, or hot). The wings will need to cook for approximately five hours depending on if you want them on the bone or falling off the bone. They are good either way, but do check to make sure that they are well cooked near the bone. If not they will need to be cooked for a little longer. Of course it does depend on how long they will need to be cooked by the desired taste.

Tip on a meal; I would like to suggest, Bushes Baked Beans and home made slaw with a pack of twenty four (24) rolls. Don't forget the salary and ranch dip. Now you have the perfect meal.

I tried fixing wings this way to see how they would be. They are just great. My family loves them cooked this way. They will invite friends just to have me fix them. I don't cook hot wings any other way.
