Teach your preschool students about the color gold, and add a little bling to their projects while doing so with these easy to prepare and inexpensive art projects for preschool and homeschool students.

Fool's Gold Rocks

Bring in a collection of fist sized rocks. Let students choose a rock and cover it with metallic gold paint and sprinkle the top with gold glitter before the paint dries. Dry on waxed paper.

Gold Photo Frames

Glue four tongue depressors together with wood glue so they form a square. When the paint dries let students glue dried beans and small pasta shapes all around the frame. Spray the frame with gold spray paint. Glue a photo of the child to the back so their face faces out. Attach a magnet to the back of the frame to make a clever gift.

Glue and Gold Glitter Art

Give students a dark piece of construction paper of cardstock. Let students create a design with glue from a bottle on the paper. Cover the paper with gold glitter and shake off the excess. They will have a shiny picture to take home.

Pot o' Gold

Around Saint Patrick's Day, help students cut a pot shape out of black construction paper and glue it to a piece of background paper. Let them draw a rainbow ending in the pot. Provide a few small gold coins to glue on the top of the pot. Provide a few shamrock stickers to place around the base of the pot.

Golden Crowns

Cut crown shapes out construction paper and let students paint their crowns with metallic gold paint. When the paint is dry, let the students decorate their crowns with sequins and shiny confetti shapes. Let them wear their crowns all day.

Gold Star Mobiles

Give students two stars that have been cut out of cardstock and spray painted gold on both sides. Give them long strips of gold curling ribbon to glue to the bottom of the star. Glue the other star on the top of the first star, so the curling ribbon strips are glued to the inside of the two stars. Punch a hole in the top point of the star to hang the stars from the ceiling.

Golden Bracelets

Give students gold chenille stems and an assortment of beads to choose from. Have them thread a few beads onto the stems and then form the stems into bracelets.
