Brown Worms in the Brown Dirt

Glue a strip of blue to the top of a brown piece of construction paper to represent the sky. Add strip of green paper that has been fringed with a pair of scissors just below it, keeping the majority of the paper brown. Let students use a wide brown marker to draw worm "tunnels" in the dirt. Finally, glue pieces of brown yarn along the tunnels to be worms.

Fuzzy Brown Bear

Give students a brown bear shape that has been cut out of brown construction paper. Let them paint glue that has been thinned with water onto the brown bears. Sprinkle the bears with coffee grounds and add a googly eye. Attach the bear shape to a piece of background paper in the child's choice of color.

Brown Texture Books

Make students small books with brown construction paper covers and a few pages made out of brown paper lunch bags. Help them write the word "brown" on the cover. Let students glue a brown item with a different texture on each page. Items can include: sandpaper, scraps of brown felt or cloth, pieces of tree bark, pieces of cardboard, and pieces of smooth brown paper.

Brown Tree Pictures

Help students paint their hand and the upper part of their forearm brown and make a brown print on a piece of paper to create the trunk and branches of a tree. Decorate the branches of the tree according to the season. For winter, add pieces of cotton for snow. For spring, add scrunched up scraps of pink tissue paper for blossoms. For summer, add pieces of green construction paper for trees, and small colored circles to represent fruit, red for apples, orange for peaches, etc... For fall, add scraps of red, orange, and yellow paper to represent leaves.

Beautiful Brown Horse

Cut the silhouette of a brown horse out of light brown construction paper. Have students glue the horse shape to a piece of background paper and add short pieces of brown yarn for the mane and tail. Add a strip of green paper to the bottom of the page for grass.

Brown Walnut People

Glue the base of a walnut to feet cut out of sturdy paper. Let students add small googly eyes and pieces of yarn for hair.
