Are you the parent of a preschooler? Whether you homeschool preschool your child or not, you may be looking for easy and fun preschool activities that you can do at home with your child. If so, you will want to consider making a collage. Collages are a nice preschool craft project to do at home, as they are easy and affordable to make and you have a number of different options.

As previously mentioned, making a collage with your preschooler is a nice activity, as it is affordable. This is due to the limited number of supplies needed. A few of the supplies that you will need are outlined below for your convenience.

Supplies Needed:

Construction Paper or Poster Board
Glue Stick
Pictures

Also, as previously stated above, making a collage with your child is a nice preschool activity because you have a number of different options. For starters, we will examine using photographs of your family.

One of the many benefits to making a collage with your child that features family photos is the sentimental value. This is a preschool craft project that can be saved and treasured by you and your child for years to come.

The first step in making a photo collage with your child is by choosing photos to use. If you have duplicate prints, this may be best. With that in mind, if you have digital photos saved on your computer, you may want to print those off instead. When doing this preschool activity, simply printing off your photographs on traditional computer paper is often enough, as you do not need to have high quality prints.

Once you have a collection of photographs to use, you may want to trim them down to size or even cut out specific members of your family. This will help to make your child's photo collage more interesting and unique. Once you have done so, give your child a glue stick and let them go to town. They can glue and paste their photographs on a sheet of construction paper or a large poster board.

In addition to doing this preschool craft project with family photographs, you can also use pictures from magazines or even pictures from store sale fliers. The store sale flier approach is great for toys and other items focused on children. As with making a photo collage, your child will simply need to glue each picture and paste it on a piece of construction paper or poster board.

When making a collage with your child that uses pictures from magazines or store sale fliers, you may want to have your child categorize the items that they find. For example, your child can place food, clothing, and toys in a separate corner of a poster board or they can use a separate sheet of construction paper for each type of item. This extra step can help to turn a fun preschool craft project into an educational activity.

Making a collage with your child is just one of the many preschool activities or preschool craft projects that you can do at home with your child. With that in mind, this activity encourages hand-eye coordination, with the use of a glue stick.

We make collages with the Tigers and Wolfs (1st and 2nd graders) in Cub Scouts. They love this activity and the Food Pyramid is one of the Tiger Badge requirements.
