Fill your preschool reading center not only with books about the planet Earth, but also with books about animals and plants of the world and different world cultures.

Snacks for Preschool Lesson Plan: Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day, serve your preschool students organic fruits and vegetables. Some examples are:

-apples
-bananas
-tomatoes
-cucumbers
-carrots
-raisins
-raspberries
-strawberries
-celery

You get the idea! I would also recommend not fancy-ing up the Earth Day snacks. You are celebrating the goodness of the earth. There is no reason to make cutesy snacks. Serve your preschool students the natural snacks naturally, without frills and icing eyes.

Fine Motor Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Earth Day

Puzzles: Find a floor puzzle in the shape of the earth. If you can't find an earth floor puzzle, then use one of animals, birds, fruits or vegetables. Let your preschool students hone their fine motor skills while looking at pictures of their world.

Lead your preschool students on a faux expedition! March in place as though walking across a meadow, run in place as though running from a forest fire, pretend to swim across an ocean and pretend to climb a tree.

Let your preschool students cut out a large circle from a piece of construction paper. Now instruct them to paint the circle to look like the earth by using watercolors or tempera paints of blue, green and brown.

Pre-math Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Earth Day

Give each of your students a piece of paper and crayons. Have your preschool students draw pictures of their favorite things in the world. When they have finished, have them count how many pictures they drew and then write the number at the top of the paper.

Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Earth Day

For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters E and e lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. do the same with the number 1.

For older students, provide an example of the letters E and e and the number 1. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.

Write the word earth on your preschool classroom's white board. Let your students practicing the writing the word earth on the white board with blue dry erase markers.
