Fine Motor Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Librarian
Give each of your preschool students a copy of a children's book that you will be reading from. Encourage them to browse through the book and look at the pictures before your begin reading. When you start reading, let them know when it comes time to turn each page. Have them use the forefinger and thumb of one hand to turn the pages.

Tip-toe: Play a tip-toe game! Librarians want us to be quiet in their libraries, so help your preschool students to practice walking quietly around your classroom and down the school hallways. Tip toe slowly. Tip toe quickly.
Art Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Librarian
Supply your art center with several sheets of rectangular paper of various colors. Let your preschool students use markers or crayons to draw story illustrations and letters of the alphabet on the rectangles. When they have finished, you will have several "book covers" to display on your bulletin board.

Set out the letters l, i, b, r, a, r, i, a, n that you have previously cut from felt or laminated construction paper. Put out an example of the word librarian for your students to use as a guide. Have them set out the letters, properly spelling the word librarian. Instruct your preschool students to count the number of letters in the word librarian. Now have your preschool students count out 9 book shapes to set beneath the 9 lettered word.
Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Librarian
For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters L and l lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 9.
For older students, provide an example of the letters L and l and the number 9. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.
Write the word librarian on your preschool classroom's white erase board. Let your students copy the word librarian on the white board with brown dry erase markers.
