Let your preschool students pretend to be monkeys on the monkey bars! Be sure to spot them at all times.

Art Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Monkeys

Set out a template of a monkey. Let your preschool students trace the template onto a piece of white construction paper. Then have them cut the monkeys out with safety scissors. Set out black paint and paint brushes. Instruct them to paint the monkeys with the black paint. Finally, give them two googly eyes to glue on each monkey.

Pre-math Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Monkeys

Set out the letters m-o-n-k-e-y that you have previously cut from felt or laminated construction paper. Put out an example of the word monkey for your students to use as a guide. Have them set out the letters, properly spelling the word monkey. Instruct your preschool students to count the number of letters in the word monkey. Now have your preschool students count out 6 monkey shapes to set beneath the 6 lettered word.

Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Monkeys

For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters M and m lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 6.

For older students, provide an example of the letters M and m and the number 6. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.

Write the word monkey on your preschool classroom's white erase board. Let your students copy the word monkey on the white board with black dry erase markers.
