Fine Motor Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Rain

Eye droppers: Fill your preschool classroom's sensory tub with water. Set out several eye droppers for your students to use to collect water and then squeeze the water out.

Sponges: Also, add some sponges to your preschool classroom's sensory tub full of water. Let your students have fun squeezing the water out of the sponges.

Water play: Take your students outdoors for some water play. Let them splash in a wading pool, run through sprinkles, spray water guns and maybe even toss some water balloons!

Pre-math Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Rain

Set out the letters r, a, i, n that you have previously cut from felt or laminated construction paper. Put out an example of the word rain for your students to use as a guide. Have them set out the letters, properly spelling the word rain. Instruct your preschool students to count the number of letters in the word rain. Now have your preschool students count out 4 raindrop shapes to set beneath the 4 lettered word.

Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Rain

For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters R and r lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 4.

For older students, provide an example of the letters R and r and the number 4. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.

Write the word rain on your preschool classroom's white erase board. Let your students copy the word rain on the white board with blue dry erase markers.
