Felt board: Place a red half circle on your preschool classroom's felt board. Set out small white rectangles cut from felt. Have your students roll two dice to see how many teeth (small white rectangles) they need to put on the red half circle (mouth). Have them count out loud as the put the teeth on the mouth.

Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Smile!

For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters S and s lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 1.

For older students, provide an example of the letters S and s and the number 1. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.

You might also write the word smile on your preschool classroom's white board. Let your students copy the word smile on the white board, using red dry erase markers.

Now spend a week smiling with your preschool students! And most importantly, send them home smiling after each school day.
