Fine Motor Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Starfish
Starfish lacing: Provide each of your preschool students with a poster board cut out of a starfish (star). Make sure the outer edge of the starfish have been hole punched. Give your preschool students each a length of pink yarn and let them lace the yarn through the holes in the starfish.
Gross Motor Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Starfish
Seahorse, Seahorse, Starfish: Lead your preschool students in a game of Duck, Duck, Goose, but change the words to Seahorse, Seahorse, Starfish.
Art Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Starfish
Starfish on the beach: For an added sensory experience, put some sand in a container of light brown finger paint. Let your preschool students finger paint a beach scene on a piece of white construction paper. After they have washed their hands, instruct your preschool students to cut one or more starfish shapes from pink construction paper. Have them glue the starfish on their beaches.

Pre-math Center Activity for Preschool Lesson Plan: Starfish
Set out the letters s-t-a-r-f-i-s-h that you have previously cut from felt or laminated construction paper. Put out an example of the word starfish for your students to use as a guide. Have them set out the letters, properly spelling the word starfish. Instruct your preschool students to count the number of letters in the word starfish. Now have your preschool students count out 8 starfish shapes to set beneath the 8 lettered word.
Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Starfish
For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters S and s lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 8.
For older students, provide an example of the letters S and s and the number 8. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.
Write the word starfish on your preschool classroom's white erase board. Let your students copy the word starfish on the white board with pink dry erase markers.
