Fine Motor Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Crabs
Crab pincers: During snack time, let your preschool students pretend to be crabs by picking up their food between four fingers and a thumb. You might also set out some toys of various sizes and let your preschool students pretend to use crab pincers to pick these toys up. Which toys were easy to pick up? The big toys or the small toys?

Crab walk: Do the crab walk! Add an element of competition to this activity by having crab walk races.
Art Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Crabs
Give each of your students a large piece of white paper on which you have drawn a crab outline. Let them finger paint the crabs with orange finger paint. To add an extra sensory element to this art activity, pour some orange Kool-Aid mix into the orange finger paint.

Pre-math Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Crabs
Set out the letters c, r, a, b that you have previously cut from felt or laminated construction paper. Put out an example of the word crab for your students to use as a guide. Have them set out the letters to spell the word crab. Instruct your preschool students to count the number of letters in the word crab. Now have your preschool students count out 4 crab shapes to set beneath the 4 lettered word.
Pre-writing Center Activities for Preschool Lesson Plan: Crabs
For younger students, provide sheets of paper with the letters C and c lightly printed on them. Have the children trace the letters. Do the same with the number 4.
For older students, provide an example of the letters C and c and the number 4. Have the students practice writing the letters and number freehand.
Write the word crab on your preschool classroom's white erase board. Let your students copy the word crab on the white board with orange dry erase markers.
