Preschool Turkey Craft: Turkey Puppet Glove

You've never been so happy to find a mismatched glove as you are today. That solo glove is your main inspiration for the turkey puppet glove. With some ordinary craft items and basic tools you'll soon have a of turkeys for your very own Thanksgiving turkey puppet show or to decorate your home.

Preschool Turkey Craft: Turkey Puppet Glove: Tools You Need

Scissors
White glue
Newspaper for the work surface

Preschool Turkey Craft: Turkey Puppet Glove: Materials

One lone glove per turkey puppet
Cotton balls or strips or clean rags made from old t-shirts or lone socks
Feathers
Wiggle eyes
OR Make your own pair of turkey eyes with two small black circles for pupils and two ovals for eyes
Orange chenille stick
Red felt or construction paper

Assemble the Preschool Turkey Craft: Turkey Puppet Glove

1. Stuff your turkey!

Use cotton balls or the strips of cloth into the fingers of the glove. Only do the tips to fill them out, leaving room for a hand to fit inside. If you don't plan on using the glove as a puppet, you can keep stuffing the glove until it's full and fat.

2. Create a Feathered Friend

Glue colorful feathers onto each of the four fingers of the glove, but not the thumb. Use one per finger, or add more depending on how many you have available and how many puppets you will be creating.

3. Quack Up

Add an orange beak, made from orange construction paper or felt. Use two triangle shapes to make a little beak.

4. Wattle, Wattle

Cut out a turkey wattle, by snipping a piece of red felt or paper into the shape of a big fat worm or cheese curl. Make squiggly and wavy lines on each side to make the wattle. Glue the wattle to the thumb, under the beak.

5. Eye Spy a Turkey!

Glue on your homemade puppet eyes or two wiggle eyes.

Use the Preschool Turkey Craft: Turkey Puppet Glove

- Kids can perform their own turkey puppet show.

- Stick the turkey puppets on craft sticks to decorate indoor plants

- Use the turkey puppets to decorate the bare branches of small shrubs or trees outside on Thanksgiving Day (if it doesn't rain).

- Attach name tags to each turkey puppet and use them as Thanksgiving Day place cards at the kids' table.
