Prescription Singular vs Over the Counter Claritin

I have seasonal allergies and asthma, I take medicine for these ailments. Anyone with these ailments knows that the seasons changing and the pollen levels make life a little difficult. You have runny noses, watery eyes and feel sluggish. I have been on a prescription medicine called Singular. I took a Singular pill at bedtime. It seemed to work all right. I was not having allergy symptoms of watery eyes, or runny nose. I was however still having trouble sleeping and breathing. I was hoping to find a new medicine to do more for me. I was afraid that over the counter medicines wouldn't work as well and that I would be sleepy from them. I was going to ask my doctor to give me something else to try for the allergies.

I had gotten a sample pack of Claritin through the mail from buzz agent. Buzz agent is a marketing company that wants to tell people about products. I decided to try it when my current prescription ran out. I took the medicine before bed and slept so much better. I also was breathing better during the night. I was happy to find a medicine that worked for me so well. Claritin did not make me sleepy during the day, this was a pleasant surprise to me. The Claritin is available over the counter at almost any chain store, mass merchant or drug store. I buy my Claritin at Giant Eagle. Many times when buying my Claritin, I use a coupon to help save money on the cost of medicines.

Both medicines are a once a day dose. The Singular is one pill by mouth. The Claritin is a redi tab that you place on your tongue and it dissolves. The Claritin being very easy for people who have trouble swallowing pills, would make it great for seniors.

My co pay for the singular is $20 for 30 pills and the Claritin cost $8.00 for 10 pills before any manufacturer's coupons.

I am happy to say that Claritin is the winner in the battle for a better allergy medicine for me. I am breathing better and sleeping better therefore I am feeling better.

I am also buying the children's Claritin for my two kids as they also suffer from seasonal alleries. They both seem to be breathing easier and feeling like normal kids.
