At times, he seems to be a pawn or puppet in a corrupt government full of people out for two main things: power and money. Then there are the times when he is simply one of the gang of power mongers. He speaks of God, blessings, good tidings, and peace. His actions, though, have been nothing short of a so-far-successful attempt at total annihilation of the entire world.
His pleas have been for democracy. His pleas have been for support in his war on terror. Where is democracy when the majority of people in this country oppose something major, like the daily spilling of blood, and they are brushed off like a pesky fly? The people keep speaking; the president keeps spouting the same nonsense and doing what he wants anyway. I, for one, know I am not alone when I say that I have been involved in the justice system in this country, and through those experiences, have learned that many times, civil rights are not a privilege to all who are citizens here. I am not a criminal. I've done nothing worse than getting one parking ticket. In a democratic society, the justice system and government are supposed to be obligated to uphold these rights, and time and time again I have seen them fail to do so. This society is falling into a pit, and that pit does not resemble freedom.
There are a couple decisions that our president has made that confirms that this is not a man out for peace and love. The on-going war, of course is one. There's no sense in beating this dead horse any further.
There is the issue of global warming. According to the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the United States, with only 25 percent of the world's population, is responsible for more than 75 percent of the total greenhouse gas pollution. The NRDC says that two government analyses have shown that it's possible to reduce this pollution to better levels without harming the U.S. economy. They also note that the Bush administration has not conducted its own analysis. The president and his administration right out oppose setting limits on greenhouse gas emissions. Perhaps this is because they know that if they are allowed to keep going in the direction that they are, there won't be a future atmosphere to be concerned about. If this administration keeps on, all the survivors will be left with is a nuclear winter. Hardly any need for concern about greenhouse gases at that point is there? So much for his stand on being pro-life.
Let's take a look at the president's budget plan. He has singled out 141 programs for elimination or steep cuts. He wants to make this move in order to save the government nearly $15-billion. Among the programs that would be eliminated are those that subsidize arts, technology, and vocational education. This plan includes doing away with a program that provides meals to roughly 400,000 needy elderly people. The administration is seeking to reduce the amount that hospitals get from the Medicare program for the elderly. President Bush is not hesitant when he says these changes are needed in the fight against terror. He could care less about this country's elderly. It's utterly sad. This is a man who thinks nothing of spending about $255 million PER DAY on war but wants to take away the needs of the less fortunate in our own country. There are needy people all over the world that could benefit from $255 million per day. This spending is so arrogant that it's nauseating.
President Bush loves to travel. He spends more time in a plane or helicopter, gallivanting all over the countryside, than any other president I can think of. It has been said that it is not his choice to be carted around in such less-than-fuel-efficient transportation and that it is dictated by tradition and Secret Service, whose mission is to protect him. (They did a bang-up job with Kennedy didn't they?) Anyway, when in the air, in the plane he most often travels in, the cost is around $6,029 per hour. How about setting a budget on that, Mr. President, and feeding the needy instead?
Our leader is a crusader for death. His absurd war spending has left blood on his hands. His budget plan shows his complete lack of concern for the needy not only in the United States, but in the world. The government is terribly arrogant. It's no wonder Americans sometimes leave such a bitter residue on other parts of the world. This could be a beautiful country. When we set aside the hypocrisy and greed, it is. Can anyone say "impeach"?

Post a CommentLOL President Bush is retarded.
I believe the national government's leader's travels should not be subject to your "emissions" argument. How's 'bout you indite Gore and the Hollywood Elite and their private jets, etc. Or would that not serve your purpose. Why let fact and rational argument get in the way of a good demagogue?
