I believe this final speech is going to be somewhat of a reflection on the past eight years under his presidency. He'll be pushing a message that he did the best he could with the situations at hand. Of course, he'll acknowledge his mistakes and realize that they'll leave him as not being viewed so kindly in history books. But, in my opinion, at least he was a man who stuck to his words. Many of his detractors find that and will always find it to be debatable but reality does show otherwise. He does, and always has, cared about doing what he believed was best for this nation. Whether or not the people behind the scenes did is questionable but he, himself, did not act purposely to harm this nation. He does not have his hand in the economic problems and fuel prices as much as the media and divisive types have too many believing. The most irate among those who dislike him now are most likely the same people who portrayed him as a chimp and characterized his daughters as being of low character prior to 9/11. Which is clearly far from the truth and was instead the oh-so-balanced and non-existent left-wing media that supposedly still doesn't exit. After all that he's still here; to stand.
After all the worries of his suspension of the election. After all the delusions of the conspiracy theorists telling us he is a ruthless dictator. Even after the assaults against his character and even physical against them, he's still here. He's still around and has brushed off what people threw at him. Even in literal terms. It's unlikely, after January 20th, that we'll hear much about him. That is, if we hear anymore about him at all. My guess is that he'll be retiring from both politics and the public eye, relax back into a calmer situation and live the rest of his life in peace. Which, i guess, will be a long one. President Bush will be leaving the White House with more respect for Barack Obama than Bill Clinton and his staffers had for himself. His speech tonight may not be too acceptable for some Americans but for those of us who still view him as a human it'll be a respectable exit for his second and final term.
