President Obama and the New Transparency

Donna L. Quesinberry, CEO-President dpInk
President Barack Obama ensured citizens during his campaign that this would be the first generation that competes in the digital age. In order to fulfill his promise, the President is rapidly providing Open Internet and Diverse Media Outlets for the use of all Americans. In order to achieve his goals for US citizens, the President has already begun deployment of cutting-edge technologies that afford US denizens new levels of government accountability through active citizen participation.

The nation's new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will ensure the safety of US networks and lead an interagency effort that serves as an umbrella to chief technology and chief information officers among the agencies and services. These best-in-class technologists and their best practices will be easily reviewed - again in real-time and with transparency - through the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Website, which is linkable, but under construction at this time.

One such example, The Middle Class Task Force (MCTF) has been created with a unique AStrongerMiddleClass.gov Website where impending town hall meeting schedules are posted as well as poliices, press releases and other criteria representative of the task force. And, Americans can also post their ideas for strengthening the middle class in 500 words or less while visiting the website. In addition to AStrongerMiddleClass.gov - the President created Recovery.gov, which is linkable, but also remains under construction at this time. The recovery website provides the latest and greatest information concerning the American economy and current state-of-the US's fiscal union, and it does so with up to the moment transparency just as President Obama promised during his campaign trail. It is apparent, that there will be no secrets regarding the newest conversations and decision-making taking place under the President's tutilege as he brings Government into the digital era and embraces the 21st Century.

With this new national broadband capability - that is being enhanced throughout the US and the intended reenactment of the Universal Service Fund with nex-gen features Internet access for all Americans - with the new transparency in real-time turns out to be much more than a shallow promise for 2009 and beyond.
