On December 1, 2007, "The Heartland Candidate Forum-A Conversation with Real People on Real Issues" will take place at HyVee Hall at noon. The forum will include over two dozen community organizations that are sponsoring this non-partisan event.

If you are already growing tired of the negative political campaign, this may be the political event you are looking for. The candidates will not be interacting with one another on stage and no debate will take place. The forum will focus more on issues that real people face on an every day basis.

The Forum is set to include candidates from both major political parties and will focus on health care, jobs, immigration, farming and the environment. Over 2,500 guests are expected to attend.

Some of the groups sponsoring the event include: Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement, Center for Community change and Iowa Conference of the United Methodist church, as referenced on iowapresidentialwatch.com

So far, the ticket requests have reached 2,500 according to communitychange.org, one of the event sponsors. The same site also revealed that it is likely the final major forum before the first vote in cast in the 2008 primaries. The site also contains links to more information about the forum, location, date and time, event sponsors and what to expect.

According to Common Cause, the Heartland Candidate Forum will feature real people with real issues. The site also features a link which allows the purchase of tickets to the event by emailing iowa@commoncause.org with the subject of "Heartland Forum". Just include your name, address, phone and email.

The anticipation is building towards the event as it is a chance for Iowans and people from across the Heartland to interact in one-on-one dialogue with candidates from both major parties at the HyVee Hall at 1:30pm.

Luring guests in is the chance to cut through the political fences and get to the heart of issues that are of greatest concern in the upcoming election.

It is also anticipated that the number of guests will reach five thousand by December 1. Sixty percent of those anticipated to attend are undecided caucus goers, meaning the forum are a great chance for candidates to get recognized and get votes.

Real people will be sharing personal stories and follow up with related questions for the candidates. There will be no interaction of the candidates with one another on stage, and the purpose of the forum is not to be a debate. However, it is more to share stories and let voters know what the candidates are all about on an individual level.

Another website that contains information on the forum is www.imdiversity.com The site contains an article titled, Cathy L. Hughes to Moderate Historic Iowa Presidential Candidate Forum.

The site also claimed at least 5,000 people are expected to attend. It was also noted that nationally known media leader Catherine L. Hughes will moderate the Heartland Presidential Forum: Community Values in Action.

Candidates will have the chance to engage in one-on-one dialogue with everyday people about the community values that are important to them, as well as what kind of America they want to live in and the changes they want to see.

Catherine Hughes is actually from the heartland herself and is considered to be both a business leader and a leader in the African American communities. She will be moderating an unscripted conversation between the presidential candidates and the everyday people on critical social issues.

The candidates will be responding directly to the individual people who will be sharing their life stories. Candidates will have a chance to share their hearts, what they want to see, and how they will go about doing just that.

The political forum is open to both parties and tickets are still for sale.

If you are interested in learning more about this unique event and being a part of the political excitement, it is not too late to grab a ticket and enjoy hearing from major political candidates on a different level.
