Presidential candidates frequently use motorcoaches as a preferred method of travel while on the campaign trail. The Ron Paul blimp is a first in campaign travel. Paul himself will not be on board so the blimp is considered more of a billboard provided by his supporters than a travel tool. The Paul supporter's pledged over $420,000 in donations to fund the blimp for as long as it is needed.

The blimp measures 197 feet long and over 66 feet high, ranking it among the largest airships in use today. Two pilots will be accompanied by a ground a ground crew of 15-20 who assist with landing and takeoffs. The Ron Paul blimp hosts a gondola with seats for up to 12 passengers, plus the pilots. These seats will be made available to supporters, veterans, charities, dignitaries and the media.

The Ron Paul blimp plans to be in Boston for the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on December 16th where it will join protesters will hold a display against high levels of taxation. Current plans have placed the blimp in the New Hampshire skies for as long as possible until the New Hampshire primary, weather permitting. Future plans take the aircraft to South Carolina and Florida.

The Ron Paul blimp is organized by Liberty Political Advertising, LLC, Elizabeth City, NC, whose principals include Trevor Lyman. Lyman orchestrated the November 5th online "money bomb" fund raising event which raised over $4.2 million in one day for the Ron Paul campaign. The Boston Tea Party Event will be held in conjunction with Lyman's next "money bomb" donation day.

Trevor Lyman is a Miami Beach online music promoter who has reportedly taken it upon himself to develop a grassroots support team for Paul. Lyman remarked he has never voted before but he was drawn to Paul's anti-war stance. Lyman's efforts include developing pro-Paul web sites including the Ron Paul Blimp site and other sites devoted to the candidate's videos and fund raising efforts.

Yes, I knew that he had one! After he is President he ought to travel or send his ambassadors around the world in it! That would be MAX!

I'll bet Ron Paul knows about the similar blimp that was operated by bounty hunters during World War 2! They were doing anti-submarine privateering under the Letters of Marque and Reprisal.
That's how Dr. No would handle terrorist!
