Presidential Overreach - Obama's Organizing for America Involved in Wisconsin Protests

Snidely Whiplash
Since when does a sitting president use a political organization of his defacto leading to organize and participate in protests outside of the chambers of Congress? Such a question leads to the next: Is there any end to the duplicity and seeming underhandedness of the Obama Administration?

According to no less than the liberal Politico, Obama's Organizing for America is deeply involved in organizing and backing the Wisconsin protests. "OfA Wisconsin's field efforts include filling buses and building turnout for the rallies this week in Madison, organizing 15 rapid response phone banks urging supporters to call their state legislators, and working on planning and producing rallies, a Democratic Party official in Washington said." What does this mean?

It seems terribly unfair and seedy. Here we have a sitting president, actually a community organizer in way over his arrogant head, using his political clout to interfere in a sovereign state's internal political struggles. It's underhanded to engage in anything the above paragraph admits OfA is engaged in. This is community organizing in action and it is not the place of the sitting president. Doesn't Obama have enough to do to fix this nation's ills? Based on his total lack of success in his two years thus far I think he needs to do his job and leave Wisconsin to Wisconsinites.

And Obama isn't only working behind the scenes but as he openly stated, thinks Wisconsin governor should not be engaged in an "assault on unions." It isn't his place to make that call, and that is an unfair political accusation.

This nation has separation of powers and part of that is NOT ONLY the three branches of the Federal government as outlined in the Constitution but the Constitution also specifies the sovereignty of the states and state's rights. In case reader's have forgotten we fought a bloody civil war over state's rights. Need we go there again? It is not Obama's business.

Barack Obama is new and different and this is change for sure but I don't believe in him and I most certainly do not "believe" in his "change." The presidency of Barack Obama has become an embarrassment. What started out as hope for perhaps some moving forward in the areas of race, politics and power has instead degenerated into Obama's using his bully pulpit to forward his petty little progressive ideology.

Let us keep in mind that Wisconsin Governor Walker was elected to bring the state back into budgetary soundness. The citizen's of Wisconsin are a larger pool than are the unionized public employees. By their election of a Republican governor and legislature the citizens have spoken. Walker ran on fiscal soundness and ending the Wisconsin budgetary issues. Since when does the tiny pool of Wisconsin public employees get to dictate to an entire state?

Obama has paid lip service to everyone pitching in, giving their fair share, etc, yet when it is one the community organizer's pet issues, suddenly he sings a new tune. Obama needs to shut his mouth, step down from his bully pulpit and respect the Constitution's state's rights provisions and accept the sovereignty of the state of Wisconsin.

Barack Obama raises the level of "inept presidential leadership" to heights heretofore unseen. His actions are underhanded, unseemly, embarrassing and NOT HIS BAILIWICK! He needs to butt out and let the Wisconsin legislature do their job. Wisconsin's leaders are trying to install fiscal soundness. Considering Obama's inept national leadership perhaps he should concentrate on doing his job which is to lead a nation, INCLUDING those that DID NOT vote for him. Thus far Obama's success as national leader leaves way more to be desired than admired.

Oh, and have ya seen the protester's signs? Hitler mustaches, Nazi's and such? Showing up on the governor's lawn at his home away from the Governor's mansion to try and intimidate the governor and his family? And so far hardly a word of concern for that civility last month seemed so important to the left. HYPOCRITES!

If you know a union member, you've heard the stories...crappy, lazy, sleeping employees being protected by the unions. The hard workers don't have enough guts to rock the boat. My husband had a friend that got a DUI while he was clocked in at a Ford Plant. He didn't lose his job! As Rev Wright said...the chickens have come home to roost America!

Doesn't surprise me at all. He has shown he is capable of anything when he feels threatened.

I resent my taxpayer money going to support government workers' position in Wisconsin. If this isn't proof positive that the Obama government isn't corrupt, I don't know what is. This is the most despicable show of political corruption and power I've seen yet. America is coming apart at the seams. I'm afraid we haven't seen it all yet.

In the real-world, he'd just be a micromanaging nitwit, and a power-junky control freak. Oh. Hold it. This IS the real world.

We are growing-up a generation of folks who do not understand that we cannot spend $$$ we do not have. Unfortunately the President and folks we have elected are stepping on the toes of those who are trying to reign in expenditures and naturally, most folks won't be happy about that. cheers
