Press Up Your Own Demo

Press CDs from Home with Your Lightscribe PC

Fourth Down
OK so you want to send off your demo and don't have the money or resources to get your CD professionally pressed up? Well there is a solution to this problem if you have a Light Scribe computer. Don't panic because just about every computer made these days ships with Light Scribe built in. What Light Scribe does is make laser-etched text or graphics onto your CD. Basically, it enables you to burn straight onto the CD instead of putting on labels yourself that may fall off or get caught in CD players.

Lets assume you already have your 4 or 5 best songs for your demo. Now you put your Blank CD into your PC and burn them as you would regularly do with any CD. After you successfully complete the burning process then take your CD out and flip it upside down and stick it back into the PC. Load up Light Scribe Disc Labeling. Don't worry this comes with every Light Scribe PC. You just mess with the settings until you get it to look how you want your CD to turn out. You can print graphic photos to cover the whole CD but I personally suggest just putting text because it will burn at a greater speed. Assuming you are pressing up a lot of Demo's so it will save you some time. Well this is all there is to burning a CD with Light Scribe. Now you just do one after another. Its time consuming but cost efficient which is great considering most bands and artist are just starting out with a small budget if one at all. By the way the disc comes out looking real nice and clean as if you sent it off to get pressed up.

Never heard of Light Scribe and have no idea whats going on ? Its OK because you can find Light Scribe blank CD-R's in your local stores wherever blank media is sold. Just make sure it has the Light Scribe logo on the package and you are good to go. The reason being is regular CD-R's can't handle the laser used to burn the images onto the disc. There is a more scientific way to put it but I am going to save you the time. Just make sure the Light Scribe Logo is on the CD package and you are on your way. If you need to see what the logo looks like just visit their website at http://www.lightscribe.com or just simply ask a clerk at your local Wal-Mart, Target, Office Max, etc. Welcome to the future of CD burning and pressing !
