1) Shower
This method is probably the simplest and safest method for removing wrinkles from delicate fabrics. Simply hand the garment in the bathroom while someone takes a hot shower. The steam from the shower will gently remove the wrinkles in the fabric without damaging the material. This works well for items such as dresses made of silk or that have many layers. It is important to hang the garment in a place where it is not a risk of coming into direct contact with water.
2) Towel
Some delicate fabrics can be pressed safely by simply placing a thin towel between the garment and the iron.
3) Inside out
For sturdier fabrics simply turn the garment inside out and iron it on the reverse side. This will help to prevent marks on the fabric but will give the best results when the fabric is ironed. Spray starch can be used on delicate fabrics, which do not become marked when wet, if the starch is sprayed on the inside of the garment instead of on visible areas.
4) Drier Bags
Wrinkles will sometimes come out a garment if it placed in a clothes drier then immediately placed on a hanger. When dealing with delicate garment or fragile fabrics it is often a good idea to place them in a drier bag so that the drier does not damage them. The use of an at-home dry cleaning kit can also be useful when attempting to remove wrinkles from a delicate garment.
