'Pretty Little Liars' - Creepiest Quotes from "A"

Kyra Lennon
If you haven't been watching ABC's hit TV show "Pretty Little Liars", you have been missing out on the teen sensation of the year. Although it may be targeted at a teenage audience, "Pretty Little Liars" is loved by people of all ages. With a complex and gripping plot, it's easy to see why. Since the series began, audiences have followed, Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) as they try to discover who murdered their friend Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), and who has been blackmailing them under the name of, "A". "A" has been responsible for sending some chilling messages to the girls, and here is a look at five of the creepiest!

1. "I'm still here, bitches. And I know everything.-A" - "Pretty Little Liars" Pilot

Even though the pilot episode was not one of the best, it quickly got interesting when Ali's body was found after a year of her being missing. Her friends quickly realised that the tormenting messages they had been receiving couldn't possibly have been from her. At the end of the episode, a funeral was held for Ali but after the service, Aria, Hanna, Emily and Spencer simultaneously received a text from "A" stating, "I'm still here, bitches. And I know everything." It was quite a creepy moment, prompting the viewer to wonder....was it really Ali's body that was found?

2. "Lions and tigers and bitches oh my! There's no place like Homecoming. See you there, A" - "There's No Place Like Homecoming"

As the girls excitedly discussed their outfits and dates for the Homecoming dance while eating a Chinese takeaway, they got quite a surprise when Hanna opened her fortune cookie and found the words, "Lions and tigers and bitches oh my! There's no place like Homecoming. See you there, A" on a note inside. The atmosphere became tense as everyone pondered over what could happen. It's possible that even "A" couldn't have predicted the evening would end so badly for Emily after a scary encounter with Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen) put her in hospital.

3. "She knew too much" - "Keep Your Friends Close"

When Hanna's friend, Mona (Janel Parrish) invited the girls to her "glamping" party, they were instantly informed by "A" that something was going to happen that night while they were camping out in the woods. Unfortunately, after several run-ins with Mona, Hanna's invitation to the party was revoked. Determined to find out who "A" is once and for all, she planned to sneak into the woods to keep watch over Aria, Emily and Spencer. When Hanna saw a figure running through the trees, she sent a text to her friends telling them to meet her in the car park. As she ran towards them though, a car appeared from nowhere and knocked her down. While the other pretty little liars called for help, they received another message from "A" saying, "She knew too much." Things got a whole lot more scary from this point on and made everyone consider just what else "A" was capable of.

4. "You'll get your $$$ back if you do what I say. Sweet dreams. A" - "Salt Meets Wound"

With Hanna out of hospital, Mona decided to throw her a surprise party at the Marin's house. When half of the school showed up for it, Hanna's kitchen was completely wrecked. That was the least of her worries though. Her mother, Ashley (Laura Leighton) had previously stolen a large amount of money from work, and after the party, the money had vanished. Hanna later got a message telling her, "You'll get your $$$ back if you do what I say. Sweet dreams. A." After Hanna had already been run over, a shiver went down the spines of the viewers as they contemplated what else "A" had in store for her.

5. "Married for love or an alibi? A" - "Know Your Frenemies"

With Spencer suspicious of her new brother in law Ian's (Ryan Merriman) motives for marrying her sister, Melissa (Torrey DeVito), she crept downstairs one night and overheard them talking. Ian uttered the words, "We're in this together," causing Spencer to further believe he killed Ali and might be manipulating Melissa into covering for him. After sneaking back to her room, she found an email saying, "Married for love or an alibi? A." All fingers pointed directly towards Ian from this moment on, but was "A" really telling the truth, or leading her friends in the wrong direction?

"A" is surely one of the sneakiest television villains of recent times, operating in secret and controlling the lives of four girls with texts and emails. With just a few episodes remaining until "Pretty Little Liars" reaches a climax, you have to ask, can "A" get any more evil?
