'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: 'The Goodbye Look'

Kenzy England

Last weeks episode of "Pretty Little Liars" left off with a mysterious figure in Emily's room wiping her hard drive clean and the girls are told to stay away from each other on the recommendation of their therapist who thinks they're a bad influence on each other.

In this weeks episode, "The Goodbye Look," the girls attempt to make it look like they are staying away from each other. Following a low key scene in the cafeteria, Hanna (Ashley Benson) is unhappy about the whole thing and leaves. Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), and Emily (Shay Mitchell) receive text messages:"Look at you. All alone in a crowd. I win. -A"

Jason's Back and He Wants Answers From Spencer:

Spencer sent a series of text messages pretending to be Melissa to someone the girls believe is Ian. When they leave the greenhouse, they see Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker) setting out the garbage. He doesn't see them and goes back inside the DiLaurentis house.

Later, Spencer returns to the house and rings the doorbell. Jason startles her when he opens the door to scare away a dog sniffing around the flowerbed. Spencer asks him if his parents are coming back. No, just him.

Spencer asks why he's back and then he starts questioning her about the events at the Bell Tower. He wants to know if Ian confessed to killing his sister Alison (Sasha Pieterse). Not exactly, but he wanted people to think Spencer had a hand in the girls murder. Jason pushes Spencer for answers and when he doesn't get the answers he wants, he goes back inside the house.

When Alison Hides Something, It Stays Hidden:

Spencer thinks back to a day when Jason was yelling at Alison for going through his stuff. Of course, Ali denied it, but when Jason goes inside, she fesses up to her friends. She tells them she has hiding places all over the house and when she wants to hide something, it stays hidden.

That dog was awfully interested in the flowerbed. Could this be a hint that Ali buried something of importance there? What about the inside of the house? Could she have hidden other important items inside and that's why Jason is back? Then there's Ian. Is Jason helping his friend?

Spencer's Sister Knows More Than What She's Telling:

At home, Melissa (Torrey Devitto) hands Spencer a sonogram picture of the baby. Spencer asks her sister if she has anymore appointments that day and prods her with questions in an attempt to figure out what Melissa knows about the Ian situation.

Later on, she asks Melissa if she had gone out. Melissa tells her she's been home all day, but Spencer finds evidence to the contrary -- a wet coat and muddy boots.

Toby (Keegan Allen) tells Spencer later she should have told him about Ian texting Melissa. As they sit at an overlook area, they wonder if Spencer should go to the police, but since when does law enforcement listen to either one of them?

Toby has a new job, but it's short lived when a homeowner realizes he's on the crew and threatens to fire the company if Toby isn't let go.

Break-In at Spencer's House and Camping Equipment Stolen from Emily's Garage:

In the meantime, Aria has gone to Spencer's house to find the glass in the door has been broken out. She enters and calls for her friend. A figure rushes down the stairs and pushes Aria hard before making tracks out the door.

When Spencer returns home and finds Aria, the two talk about the break-in and the Fields' missing camping gear that mysteriously vanished from their garage and toyed with the thought Ian could be responsible for both.

Emily Says Goodbye to Her Hard Drive and Hello to Hopes of a New Relationship:

Emily can't believe it when she realizes her entire hard drive has been wiped and the videos are gone. She theorizes it could have been anyone since the realtor was showing the house.

Speaking of Emily, she's doing everything in her power to stay in Rosewood, so when a scout from Danby University shows up with the prospect of signing her to their swim team, her hopes are restored.

A stay in Rosewood would also mean Emily can start a relationship with Samara ( Claire Holt ), -- a relationship she would otherwise avoid because Emily doesn't want to start something she can't finish.

When Emily's mom Pam (Nia Peeples) tells her they (she and Em's father) need some kind of commitment from the university, Emily discusses it with the scout who tells her he can't make any promises, but he can give her a letter expressing the university's interest in her. Will this be enough to keep Emily in Rosewood or is she Texas bound?

Hanna Forgives Mona, But Her Daddy is a Different Story:

Hanna's daddy is back in town and she's not exactly falling over herself with excitement. She tells him she doesn't trust him because he broke a promise he made to her.

Hanna is screening her phone calls and won't answer the phone when Mona (Janel Parrish) calls. Mona goes to Aria about putting in a good word for her with Hanna but Aria tells her they aren't speaking. This is all part of a ruse -- the girls are still talking in secret despite what their therapist suggests.

All ends well between the two best friends, though, when Hanna approaches Mona to bury the hatchet.

Ezra Prepares to Leave Rosewood High and Aria Questions Their Relationship:

Ezra (Ian Harding) is getting ready to leave Rosewood High School to teach at Hollis College and Aria isn't making things easy for either one of them. Is she trying to push the hot teacher away? He asks her over to his apartment so they can talk and Aria agrees.

Aria is disappointed when Ezra doesn't show up. He calls to tell her he has an appointment with his new employer but he'll be home soon. Aria calls Spencer to ask how long she should wait but their conversation is cut short. Aria paces the apartment and then gets a text message from Ezra asking her to, "Please. Wait."

Aria finally gets frustrated and leaves Ezra a note on his typewriter, "Sorry we couldn't make this work."

Aria and Ezra's Sweet, Steamy PDA in the School Parking Lot:

At the end of this episode, Ezra has said his goodbye's to his English class -- though certain elements of the message was meant for Aria -- and he's packed his things. Aria has second thoughts about letting their relationship end and she rushes down the hallway to Ezra's classroom. He's not there, but she sees him when she looks out of the window. Aria runs to the parking lot and into her lovers arms. The pair throw caution to the wind and make-out, in public!

Next week on "Pretty Little Liars:"

Next weeks episode is titled, "My Name is Trouble."

The girls continue to try to stay from each other.

Aria signs up for a pottery class at Hollis College.

Hanna asks Lucas if she can join the yearbook staff.

Emily puts forth a lot of effort with her swimming in an attempt to secure a scholarship and the chance to stay in Rosewood, even if she has to lie to her mother to get her way.

Spencer wonders about the secrets inside the DiLaurentis house.

Melissa continues to receive text messages.
