Pretty in Pink

Sometimes You Need to Keep it Simple..

David Carr
She looks pretty in pink
And her smile just makes me think
About wanting to be more
Than what she's ready for

I'm a patient man, but I've waited too long
And I need her now to know
That if we can't meet, in the middle tonight
Then I guess I'll have to go

Because the sound of her voice
Takes me to a place
And I feel I need a drink

When I start to run out
Of things to say
I tell her she looks pretty in pink

She looks really nice
When she smiles at me
With a wave of her hand
It's easy to see

That she is trying hard to show
That she wants these feelings to grow
But she also feels the need
To keep them hidden from me

So I try and try to let her know
With touch, a smile and a wink
And when she finally let's her guard down
I simply tell her she looks pretty in pink

I can see the look in her eyes
It's a look of hope and fear
And the feelings that I take from her
Are mix of happiness and tears

So I wait for her to talk to me
And let me know the truth
I pour the wine as our glasses clink

When the time seems right
My inhibitions seemingly take flight
And I tell her she looks pretty in pink
