Here are few adjustments that you can make in your lifestyle and in your food habits that will go a long way to preventing breast cancer.
· Reduce your intake of meat. If you want to continue eating meat occasionally make sure that its naturally raised meat. If you have wondered why the vegetarians out there are always less prone to the chronic illnesses, you must also wonder why they are less likely to get breast cancer as well.
· Eat plenty of green vegetables especially cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower.
· Eat fish regularly. The Omega-3 essential fatty acid is very effective in preventing cancer. Alternately you can take Omega-3 supplements.
· Take care of your weight. Being overweight increases the chances of getting cancer. You should also try to keep the excess fat down. You can eat a balanced diet to maintain your weight.
· Regular work out - Regular workout is usually essential to reduce the risks of cancer. Not only does it reduce your weight, it can improve your mood. A brisk walk for half an hour daily is fine.
· It has been found that substances like green tea, vitamin D and Black cohosh can reduce the risks of Cancer. Some of these substances are present in good amounts in our daily diet if they are not, you can take supplements regularly to reduce the risk to getting breast cancer.
Reduce your intake of alcohol. Alcohol can increase the risk factor and so you need to play off the booze. If you are particular about having a drink, have red wine which is rich in anti oxidants and low in alcohol content.
It's much easier to prevent breast cancer by using these safe and natural methods than to cure it using chemotherapy & radiation treatment.
