Well, sometimes the answers are right under your nose and I am here to help guide you on your path to becoming as hemorrhoid free as possible. Unless you have a major underlying medical condition, a few tweaks to your diet, lifestyle, and some other remedies will have you hemorrhoid free in no time.

Please look at some Natural Hemorrhoid Relief ideas if you are currently experiencing painful hemorrhoids and need relief NOW. But, if you are here to learn how to prevent hemorrhoids, then read on and I will teach you some valuable tips that will have you thinking "why haven't I been doing this all along?"

First of all, as mentioned above, the answer to why you keep having flare ups of painful hemorrhoids can be found right under your nose. I am talking about your mouth. What you put in your mouth eventually makes its way down the roadways of your digestive system and depending on what types of food you put in your mouth will depend on what amount of havoc can be stirred up in your gut and ultimately your anus; where the inflamed hemorrhoids will be.

By eating the right foods you will be well on your way to becoming hemorrhoid free if you follow the "diet". Diet is such a scary word but you shouldn't let it be. When the word diet is mentioned, it does not necessarily have to mean a drastic change in your eating habits. Just some minor tweaks to your daily food consumption can make a large impact on the occurrence of hemorrhoids in your life. Studies reveal that a man needs at least 28-30 grams of fiber per day to have a healthy digestive system. A woman needs between 22 and 25 grams of fiber per day.

Fiber works in your digestive system to not only get food digested properly but to help get things moving in your digestive tract as well. The leading cause of hemorrhoids is straining when trying to go number two. The main cause of straining is constipation. Nip constipation and you will likely nip hemorrhoids from your life as well.

To get those full servings of fiber per day is not as hard as it seems. You simply need to know what foods pack the best punch of fiber. This way, if you do not like certain healthy foods, finding the kinds that have the most fiber will mean the less that you have to eat. Keep in mind that you do not want to get a full day serving of fiber in one sitting, otherwise you are not only going to still get hemorrhoids, but now you are probably going to have diarrhea.

Start off in moderation, especially if your normal fiber intake is far less than what is recommended.

Some popular natural foods that contain fiber and can easily be incorporated into your daily diet include breakfast cereals with bran, such as Bran Flakes. If you slice up a banana or strawberries into your bran cereal; not only will you have a rather yummy breakfast, but you will also be getting a healthy dose of fiber in your diet as well.

For lunch, add in some vegetables or beans that are loaded with fiber. Brussels sprouts and broccoli both have good amounts of fiber in them as does cauliflower and spinach. You can also get some fiber rich content from other foods such as nuts and berries and even skim milk.

Foods high in fat and animal based products are big constipation causers and should be avoided or only eaten in moderation.

The above foods are to help move the stool and make having a bowel movement less strenuous and making the chance of getting painful hemorrhoids less likely. Foods that cause or irritate hemorrhoids include heavy foods, spicy foods, fatty foods, red meat, eggs, food containing MSG, and high protein diets. People on carbohydrate free diets are often prone to constipation and in turn are prone to hemorrhoids.

Laxatives and over-the-counter stool softeners may be okay for the short term, but if used frequently; overtime they can weaken the digestive tract causing straining to have a BM more often therefore causing hemorrhoids to occur more frequently.

No matter how much fiber you add to your diet or how much of the hemorrhoid causing food you avoid, none of it will matter if you aren't drinking enough pure water throughout the day. You should have at least 8 eight ounce glasses of water per day. This will soften the stool and make the passage of the stool much easier and cause less strain meaning fewer chances of hemorrhoids.

We will hit on Lifestyle Changes to Prevent Hemorrhoids in a later article, but a quick tip for right now would be: the less active you are, the more likely that stool is going to settle in your bowels. The longer that stool is in your bowels the harder it becomes, thus making it harder and more painful to pass, which I am sure you have learned by now-the more likely you are to have hemorrhoids.

Making simple changes or additions to your diet will go a long way in not only relieving your body of constipation and the pain of hemorrhoids, but eating healthier is boosting your health in a number of ways. Not only will eliminating some of the bad foods help you to lose weight, but it will also be better on your heart and other systems in your body. Remember, constipation causes straining and straining causes hemorrhoids and to alleviate both problems you simply need to be more mindful of what you are and aren't putting in your mouth on a daily basis.
