After taking a few years off, Jay Leno is coming back to late night television, but this time he will be on primetime tv. The new Jay Leno Show is said to be more comical and less stationary. The premiere is scheduled to air on September 14th at 10pm on NBC, and will share the same time slot as the second season of The Mentalist. He will be competing with a new group of shows, instead of his usually late night talk shows and local news programs, and will air five nights a week, Monday through Friday.

Competition

The Jay Leno Show will now be competing with shows like CSI, NCIS, House, and Psych, not it's usually news and other Late Night Talk Shows. This move is very risky, yet smart. Since there are no other talk shows airing at this time, those who enjoy comedic talk shows can easily fit this one in their schedule. For comedy competition, The Jay Leno Show will be up against these fall comedy premieres:

* How I Met Your Mother, a comedy about a man who tells his son and daughter about how he met their mother. This show airs on CBS and will start at 8pm on Monday nights this fall.

* Two and A Half Men, a comedy about two brothers and a nephew that live together in a beach front house. This show airs on Monday nights at 9 pm on CBS this fall.

* Glee, a musical comedy about a teacher that trys to change the glee club. This show airs on fox on Wednesdays at 9pm this fall.

* Desperate Housewives, a comedy-drama series that portrays the lives a group of women as seen by their dead neighbor. This series will air on Sunday nights at 9 pm on ABC this fall.

* Ugly Betty, a comedy-drama about a girl who has no fashion sense, yet lands a job at the fashion center magazine. This show airs on Friday nights at 9pm on ABC this fall.

* The Office, a comedy about every day office people, which airs Thursday nights at 9pm on NBC this fall.

* 30 Rock, a comedy about writers of a late night comedy skit, which airs on Thursday nights at 9:30 pm on NBC this fall.

Expectations

As long as Jay keeps up with stuff like the Jaywalking, hilarious headlines, and who can forget the best intern alive, 'Ross', the show should do great.
