I'm excited about the upcoming premier of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I've watched The Real Housewives of New York City, and I really enjoyed the series. I admit, that I thought, prior to watching the show, that it looked like a complete waste of time to watch. But, it became a guilty pleasure. Now, the show is focusing on housewives in Atlanta, my home city. I look forward to learning about the women of this season as they navigate through their personal and professional lives. This season's cast is predominantly African-American, which adds a great twist to the series, as the other two seasons featured no African-Americans. The season premieres on October 3rd, and will feature the following women:

DeShawn Snow, wife of NBA basketball player, Eric Snow. She has three sons is active in various charities, including a charity that helps foster self-esteem in young girls, The DeShawn Snow organization.

Kim Zolciak, a country music singer and homemaker. She married and had her two daughters early, and is currently divorced. She is a devoted charity supporter.

Lisa Wu Hartwell, a baby clothing designer, has three children, and is active in the Atlanta social scene. She is an actress, writer, and model, and is also married to NfL football player, Ed Hartwell. She also involved in real estate and designing jewelry. She says that she doesn't have hobbies, but what she enjoys doing, she gets paid for, like painting, designing jewelry, etc. She is also a trained martial artist.

NeNe Leakes, an aspiring boutique hotel owner. She is a founder of a domestic abuse prevention organization, called Twisted Hearts. She is married with two sons.

Sheree Whitfield, an up and coming clothing designer. A divorced mother of three, she is active in Atlanta's social scene and has always had a passion for clothing and fashion. She is a former clothing boutique owner. Her line is called She by Sheree.

I'm excited about watching the show and learning more about these women as they meet and greet with Atlanta's stars. Some have complained about the fact that hardly any of the women live in the actual city of Atlanta. However, the suburbs of Atlanta are still considered Atlanta. I think this show will be great entertainment. At least, I'm hoping that these Atlanta residents will represent and show how the South is a great and exciting place to be. Not all the fun is to be had in California and New York!
