Sometimes I am asked how I can be so positive. I am not always. Some things I had just kept to myself. I have fears and doubts just like everyone else. A look at the inner darkness.
Darkness looms imminent
Suddenly I cannot breathe
Not previously apparent
Manifesting ever nearer
Was it there all the while,
Hidden by luminosity
That once shone brightly
Now too distant to see?
Raven's gaping blackness rears
Humbled wings too frail to soar
Attempts at evasion pointless
As the mordant beak clamps shut.

Post a CommentYes. We often keep things to ourselves. I fear that this is sometimes a misconception of what is Christianity. Yet, if I were to always take my fears and doubts before man, I would never have the joy of sitting down alone with God so that he might help me grow. Thanks for the honest sharing, Jolynne. It is in the dark hours that we come nearest to our savior.
I feel your intense emotion in this poem.
Intense.
Nice work.
Jolynne, this is very dark and we do all have dark places inside of us that must show their faces once in a while! No go back to cheerful!! LOL
This is wonderful Jolynne. Like Jack said..you human like the rest of us. Darkness can be such a temptation. I really liked this..great work!
Even so, Jolynne, you are only human like we too, yet more gifted than most anyone that I have ever know. I can identify with this so much. There is everyone who has what is called "The Dark Night of the Soul", even I. I hope that I am positive with my comments to the writers and in person, but I have had these "dark nights" myself. It is some comfort in knowing we are not alone in these. Absolutely outstanding work.
You Continue to Inspire, as always
very dramatic
Yikes! Dramatic.
