Priest with Prying Eyes

T. Ramaswamy
A priest addresses a large religious congregation. The topic is Decline and Fall of Morality. He laments over the present trends and urges the gathering to lift them to high and lofty ideals of moral conduct. Finally he expresses his anguish at the present situation. The narration flows:

"I am shocked to find the steep decline in values in our society. In olden days people valued values and observed modesty in every walk of life and behavior. In contrast we have a situation where people are downfallen. For instance see the girl squatting in the third row. She is not even twenty. She is a software engineer. She doesn't wear underwear. What is the use is her being a software engineer? I can't imagine such situations occurring in our society. People like her are vitiating the sanctity of the place and atmosphere.

I plead before you to avoid such situations distracting attention of the preacher. We should not have men and women immodestly dressed especially during such congregations. It really hurts us to know of and see such sights. It is debasing and poses a challenge to our value system. Let us salvage our values and code of conduct while going public."
