In last week's church bulletin the pastor wrote, "For the good of the parish, I have asked that a new pastor be appointed as of July 1st." Keith Fennessy also mentioned that his 98-year-old mother's health has been declining and he wants to spend more time with her.
The Staten Island Advance and the Archdiocese refuse to report about the information linking MAS and its executive director Mahdi Bray to radical and nefarious associations. The Archdiocese of New York is on record defending the sale of the property to MAS.
Joe Zwilling, a spokesman for the archdiocese had this to say, "I've not heard anything that says this is a terrorist organization, I would hate to even use a word like that when that word only serves to inflame people's emotions."
Perhaps, Mr. Zwilling is accurate regarding direct terror activities by MAS; however a cursory investigation into Mahdi Bray the executive director of MAS will reveal that they support Hamas and Hezbollah, two terror organizations, and enjoys an association with other terror affiliated outfits.
Did not Rev. Fennessy of St. Margaret Mary or the Archdiocese of NY have access to the internet?
A Barack Obama Connection
Barack Hussein Obama appointed Chicago lawyer Mazen Ashabi during the presidential campaign as an outreach volunteer to Muslim groups. Ashabi resigned after it was revealed he was affiliated with terrorist friendly organizations.
Obama replaced Mr. Ashabi with a woman named Minha Husani. Ms. Husani attended an event, in her capacity as an Obama staffer, with terror friendly Muslim activists; including the executive director of the Muslim American Society (MAS)Mahdi Bray.
The Wikipedia page on Mahdi Bray cited the original "Deep Background MSNBC" story titled, "Obama concedes mistake over Muslim outreach meeting"; curiously that story is now scrubbed.
The story on the president's radical appointments can be found here and video here mentioning Madhi Bray; note the Obama campaign claimed ignorance to the attendee list when sending Ms. Husani, curiously Obama's original disgraced staffer Mazen Ashabi was in attendance along with his replacement, Ms. Husani.
Muslim American Society's Terrorist and Muslim Brotherhood Connection
It has been reported that MAS is an Al Qaeda linked group which merged with the Islamic Circle of North America. Adherents of both groups have been linked to terrorism.
MAS Director Bray (who also sits on the board of the Interfaith Alliance), has been a staunch defender of terrorists like Ali Al Tamimi, and the American born Jihadi Abu Ali.
No wonder the parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Church of Midland Beach are upset over the sale to MAS and openly questioned Rev. Fennessy's quiet decision to sell the convent.
The Muslim American Society was founded as the U.S. chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood.
A Weekly Standard report titled MAS's Muslim Brotherhood Problem reveals more:
In 1993, MAS was incorporated in Illinois and in order to obtain active membership status a Muslim must adhere to a set of objectives, the first objective being:
(1) Continue building the correct unified comprehension of Islam as outlined in the Message of the Teachings by Imam Al-Banna.
Imam Al-Banna is the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The report cites a Chicago Tribune piece that clearly links MAS to the Muslim Brotherhood; curiously that story was also scrubbed.
Mahdi Bray was born Wright Bray and has amassed different aliases. He was sent to prison as Wright Bray for marijuana and cocaine possession and then later for stealing government checks.
Mr. Bray and his aliases racked up quite a few arrests and convictions, some of which was during anti-Israel protests.
During a 1998 MAS rally, Mahdi Bray played the tambourine while his crowd sang 'Let's all go into jihad, and throw stones at the face of the Jews.'
During a December 2000 MAS rally in front of the White House, with the Nazi swastika openly displayed, Mahdi Bray's emcee and crowd chanted 'O Jews, the Army of Muhammad is coming for you.'
Keith Fennessy, pastor of St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church in Midland Beach, Staten Island, saw fit to quietly make a deal with the radical Muslim group; a fitting response from the parishioners was loud questions. Perhaps, Fennessy stepping down as the parish priest is even more fitting.
Regardless of the dubious actions and the ignorance of the NY Archdiocese, let us hope all is well for Mr. Fennessy's ailing 98-year old mother.

I'd say if they support Hamas and Hezbollah that may be some concern. Thoroughly informative by far. Excellent report!
Your articles are always top notch, Tony. :-)
Great article - thanks Tony.
Great article. I think we should put Obama's choices under more scrutiny. If a "church" sells property to terrorist friendly people maybe that is their naiveness showing through, but Obama's appointments in politics?...
Selling one's property is one's prerogative. Selling an asset to a willing buyer is business. But selling a convent to a muslim terrorist group is just plain alarming.
great report. Amazing how corrupt people can become.
An excellent report!!
I doubt he resigned just to take care of his aging mother.
