Game Background

Using the abilities of the super soldier Roy, defeat the dark creatures that have entered the land of HUEman and close the portal to their dark world at the top of the Prizim tower.

Gameplay

The objective of the game is to reach the top of Prizim tower and close the portal that allows the dark creatures to enter the land of Hueman. To get to the top of Prizim tower, you must access a series of elevators to advance up the tower one floor at a time. Overcome obstacles along the way to make your way to each elevator in other to make progress in this platformer.

Control the super soldier Roy to get up the Prizim tower. Roy is composed of three different primary colors, each with a special ability. While Blue, Roy can created ice blocks that can be used as temporary platforms or weights. While Red, Roy can shoot fire. While Yellow, Roy can become undetectable by laser beams. Use these abilities, along with special upgrades that you can obtain at different floors/levels in the game, to defeat the enemy.

Obstacles in this platformer include black goopy substances that are scattered throughout the game. Touching these at any point will cause you to lose, which means you will have to restart that level. Avoid touching the black substances and make your way to the elevator at the end of each stage.

Once you arrive at the elevator, simply click on the next floor to begin the next level. The initial levels will guide you through different controls and special movements that will become essential to completing the game. As you progress through the game and advance up the Prizim tower, you will encounter more and more difficult obstacles that will require you to make use of the basic skills you learn about in the first few levels.

An X-Box controller can be used to play Primary. See the Author Comments on the game's site for additional information on how this is done.

Game Review

Primary is a creative take on the action platformer genre. The game concept is itself appealing as it utilizes the three primary colors to perform special tasks to accomplish a common goal. The gameplay is also entertaining as players are allowed to change between colors quite easily. The idea of using an elevator and the stories of a tower as levels add to the game's appeal and really holds the game together.

Primary scores a 10/10 for its high level of entertainment value.
