I do understand the fear in a parents heart whenever the news comes on and you wonder if the soldier that was just killed is your child, or has he been mangled in some horrible way? I understand the sense of helplessness, the bargaining with my Higher power. Let my child live, let him be safe, I will gladly die in his place. Just let him come home. Please! Don't let him have to go back again. Please! I just got off the anti-depressants the doctor had to put me on the last time he was gone. He's missing all the firsts of his babies. His wife is going crazy raising the five kids alone. It is like being divorced only you have to consider him in everything you do. It's so hard being a daddy thousands of miles away. Lord, why didn't I tell him all those years ago that I would not allow him to sign on the dotted line?
Why? Because he is proud to be a soldier. Proud to be protecting his country. Proud to be fighting for his freedom as well as yours and mine. I believe that every soldier over there is a Prince or Princess to someone. Why should Prince Harry be treated special. He signed up. Let him do his duty and his job just like all the others.
The question now is can he? They have now let it out that he is over there. They, whoever leaked the fact that the Prince was there, have put his life in more jeopardy than it already was. Why can't the media be a little more careful in what they write about? I guess that that is another story to write about at another time.
To finish this, again I say, let the Prince serve with my Prince. Fair is fair!
