Prince Harry Training for Deployment

Several British media sources have confirmed that Prince Harry is currently undergoing "conversion to role" training at RAF Wattisham in Suffolk after qualifying as an Apache pilot, according to Yahoo!News . Upon completion of the 7 month course, Prince Harry will be assigned to a squadron.

The Ministry of Defence(MoD) would not comment on whether the 26 year old red-haired prince is said to be keen on returning to Afghanistan, but it was reported that he has been cleared for redeployment. A spokesman said that Prince Harry is an army pilot and will deploy wherever the Army decides to send him. His goal is to serve his country like everybody else in the British Forces.

In 2007-2008, Prince Harry served 10 weeks in Afghanistan, but was forced to leave that deployment for security reasons after the top secret news of that service was revealed. If he had stayed, their was fear not only for his own safety, but that of the troops around him, so the decision was made to send Prince Harry home. Prince Harry worked as a forward air controller and directed bomber jets targeting the Taliban.

Clarence House is very tight-lipped about making any remarks about Prince Harry's possible Afghanistan deployment saying only that he is an Army pilot and will go wherever the Army decides to send him. His family is said to be very understanding about what Harry wants to do with his life and will not try to persuade him otherwise.

An Apache helicopter is equipped with rockets, missiles and a machine gun, designed to hunt and destroy tanks. Prince Harry said he considers himself very lucky to have the chance to fly helicopters, especially the Apache. "It's one of the safest helicopters, and that's why my father wasn't too upset when I became a pilot and was able to fly the Apache," he said. His new role as pilot of this helicopter could very well take him to front line combat zones.

The Ministry of Defence(MoD) said they don't comment on the deployment of individual service personnel, but in this case it's fairly easy to read between the lines and figure out that Prince Harry's next call of duty could very well be Afghanistan.

One of London's most eligible bachelors, Prince Harry will ,probably put any serious romantic relationships on the back burner for now and concentrate on his career as an Army pilot for the British Forces. He will be based at a flying station for the next 4 years.

It's been rumored that this "London Romeo", had recently broken up with longtime gal pal, Chelsy Davy, but this is said to be pure speculation, as is the secret date that he supposedly had with Pippa, his brother's sister-in-law.
