It's their first international tour as a married couple, and today (July 1) Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted celebrating Canada Day in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked fabulous as they greeted eager Canadians on the 144th birthday of the North American country.

When William and Kate arrived in Canada yesterday, they tried to speak a bit of French as they were welcomed by the locals.

One observer told press, "They are beautiful together, like a fairy tale. He just sounded so cute and adorable with his English accent. He did pretty well with his French."

Will and Kate will tour various parts of Canada until July 8th, at which time they'll fly down to Los Angeles for a couple of days.

Bringing an end to the first day of their North American tour, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended an informal reception for young Canadian volunteers in the official residence of the Governor General of Canada in Ottawa on Thursday night (June 30).

The 29-year-old lovebirds took to Rideau Hall with Kate wearing her third dress of the day, this time looking adorable in a black and white Issa wrap frock with wedge sandals.

Despite the overseas travels and time spent with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his wife Laureen during a wreath laying ceremony at the National War Memorial, Miss Middleton was in fine form.

Asked by an attendee if she and Will were worn out from the hectic afternoon, Kate replied, "We are fine, not too bad."

Earlier in the day Prince William and his wifewere spotted de-boarding their luxurious aircraft in Ottawa, Canada.

The newly married, royal couple was greeted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Baird and Mrs Marianne upon arrival. Here they were presented with a brand new flag made specially for William.

Intended for use when William is in Canada, the flag was designed and made over a three-month period and it includes the familiar insignia that are on other royal standards, but also has William's "W' cypher at its center.

Prior to their visit, Kevin MacLeod, the Canadian secretary to the Queen told press, "I think given the youth and the dynamism of this couple they will simply continue to reaffirm the important role the crown plays in this country."

Unfortunately, not all Canadians feel the same way. A blogger named Donquixotic lamented the news of the Royal couple's visit "I am disgusted that our governments (federal and provincial) [are] wasting their citizens' hard-earned tax remittances on such stupid and insulting expenditure as to entertain the scions of one of the wealthiest families of the planet, who come here to promote THEIR own trade interests. If William Windsor and his wife want to visit, they are welcome, as all other tourists who pay their own way! Otherwise let them stay home."
