First, TLC (The Learning Channel) plans to dedicate a week of air time to Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding. From April 24 up through the wedding date of April 29, TLC will feature various specials including archived material, round-table discussion with royalty experts, and interviews.
In addition to the "U.K. - themed week", there will also be a special about both British and American hoarders and "extreme" collectors of royal memorabilia.
For the big day, you can also catch live coverage of the royal wedding! TLC will even run a condensed version of the wedding from April 30 - May 1 in case you can't watch the event of the century on live television.
According to Nancy Daniels, TLC's programming executive, the royal wedding shows are aired in order to "enhance viewers overall royal experience" of the upcoming nuptials. Paul Buccieri, ITV Studios America president and CEO, echoed the same sentiments stating, "This is without question the most widely anticipated wedding in a generation."
While television specials are expected, you may not have planned on seeing Prince William and Kate Middleton portrayed as comic book characters, but Bluewater Productions have folded the royal pair into its 'Fame' comic book series which also includes Taylor Swift and Twilight Stars to name just a few.
People reported that Darren Davis, the publisher of Bluewater Productions, told them about William and Kate, "It's funny - they don't make movies, they don't score touchdowns and they don't write best sellers, but they seem to effortlessly capture the American zeitgeist."
When Davis says 'zeitgeist' he's referring to the spirit, thoughts, feelings and trends of the time or a certain period.

While for some it may be hard, or even silly for that matter, to see the Prince and Princess as comic book heroes, the creation of those characters actually ties back into many of our childhoods when we were told that marrying a Prince or Princess was the be-all and end-all of our existence.
Bluewater Productions' "Fame: The Royals" was written by CW Cooke and penciled and inked by Pablo Marinena who said, "I think the comic format is ideal to recreate [the couple's story] and make it known to all ages. It is about two people who met and get to fulfill their dreams. William now has a partner he adores. Kate fulfills the dream that a lot of girls have, to marry her prince charming and best friend."
You can purchase copies of the series for $3.99 at most comic book retail outlets.
